[:de]Sie kommen vom Tanz her und vom Zirkus – und sie lassen sich auf ein ebenso freudiges wie strenges Aufstiegsritual ein. In luftiger Höhe erschaffen sie mittels Leitern einen fragilen Ort, der sich im Spiel mit dem Licht in der Nacht zum gigantischen Schatten ausweitet. Dieser Dialog mit den Dimensionen des Raums wird zugleich zur Aktion mit dem Maßstab der Leere. Alle Schritte und Gesten dieser Konstruktion sind das Wirken einer kollektiven Organisation, in der jede Aktion, jedes Individuum wesentlich ist. Nur gemeinsam lässt sich der Aufstieg schaffen, das Gebilde stabil halten. So entsteht eine atemberaubende Installation in Bewegung.

Die Compagnie Retouramont gilt als Pionierin der danse verticale. Ihr künstlerischer Leiter Fabrice Guillot ist professioneller Kletterer, was ihm eine unendliche Vielfalt an Bewegungen am Seil eröffnet, die mit der Struktur der Fassaden spielt und sie mit der dritten Dimension – dem Luftraum – verbindet. Seit 2014 leitet die Compagnie Retouramont das Vertical Dance Forum und vereint sieben Choreografen der Danse Verticale aus Europa und Canada.

    [:en]They come from a background in dance and the circus – and they embark on a ritual of ascent that is as joyful as it is rigorous. At lofty heights, they use ladders to create a fragile space that expands into a gigantic shadow as it plays with the light at night. This dialog with the dimensions of space also becomes an action with the scale of emptiness. All the steps and gestures of this construction are the work of a collective organization in which every action, every individual is essential. Only together can the ascent be achieved and the structure kept stable. The result is a breathtaking installation in motion.

The Compagnie Retouramont is considered a pioneer of danse verticale. Its artistic director Fabrice Guillot is a professional climber, which opens up an infinite variety of movements on the rope that play with the structure of the façades and connect them with the third dimension – the air. Since 2014, the Compagnie Retouramont has led the Vertical Dance Forum, bringing together seven Danse Verticale choreographers from Europe and Canada.
