International Breakdance and Hip Hop Battle[:]
[:de]Seit 30 Jahren trainieren Breakdancer unterschiedlichen Alters aus Chemnitz und Umgebung im soziokulturellen Zentrum Kraftwerk. Im Jahr 2002 haben die Tänzerinnen und Tänzer an ihrem Trainingsort erstmals ehrenamtlich das internationale Breakdance- und Hip-Hop-Battle „Soul Expression“ organisiert und zusehends zum Highlight der Szene gemacht. Insgesamt 369 Crews mit knapp 3.000 Tänzerinnen und Tänzern aus 100 europäischen Städten und drei weiteren Kontinenten haben bis 2015 insgesamt 7.400 Besucher erreicht. Nun kommt im Rahmen des 10. Festivals TANZ | MODERNE | TANZ 2024 zu einer Wiederbelebung des Projektes. Chemnitzer und sächsische Breakdancer organisieren mit weiteren Enthusiasten aus der Szene das Revival. Im Team dabei sind natürlich auch Tänzer von „The Saxonz“ und dem Chemnitzer „Room – Hip Hop Spot“. Mit Elan, Frische, Fröhlichkeit, kreativen Ideen, neuen Initiativen und Motivationen arbeiten sie seit vielen Wochen an der Umsetzung und leisten mit dem einzigartigen Projekt ihren Beitrag zur europäischen Kulturhauptstadt Chemnitz 2025. Zu den „5 vs 5 – Breaking Crew Battles“ und „3 vs 3 Hip Hop Battles“ werden Gruppen, DJs, Tänzer und Tänzerinnen für die Jury und weitere Akteure aus Deutschland, Frankreich, Marokko, vielleicht auch Österreich und der Schweiz erwartet. Durch den Charakter der Crew-Battles und des Miteinanders der Tänzer und Tänzerinnen erlebt auch das Publikum emotionale Momente und natürlich faszinierende tänzerische Höchstleistungen, wenn die Schwerkraft außer Kraft gesetzt wird.

In 2002, the dancers organized the international breakdance and hip-hop battle „Soul Expression“ for the first time on a voluntary basis at their training location and increasingly made it a highlight of the scene. By 2015, a total of 369 crews with almost 3,000 dancers from 100 European cities and three other continents had reached a total of 7,400 visitors. The project is now being revived as part of the 10th TANZ | MODERNE | TANZ 2024 festival. Breakdancers from Chemnitz and Saxony are organizing the revival with other enthusiasts from the scene. Of course, the team also includes dancers from „The Saxonz“ and the Chemnitz „Room – Hip Hop Spot“. With verve, freshness, cheerfulness, creative ideas, new initiatives and motivation, they have been working on the implementation for many weeks and are making their contribution to the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 with this unique project. The „5 vs 5 – Breaking Crew Battles“ and „3 vs 3 Hip Hop Battles“ are expected to attract groups, DJs, dancers for the jury and other participants from Germany, France, Morocco, perhaps also Austria and Switzerland. Due to the character of the crew battles and the togetherness of the dancers, the audience also experiences emotional moments and of course fascinating dance performances when gravity is suspended.
