[:de]Tipping Point ist ein atemberaubender Balanceakt, bei dem sechs Performer einem großen, halbkugelförmigen Objekt gegenüberstehen. Sobald sie es besteigen, kippt es und sie müssen sofort reagieren. Diese Instabilität stellt sowohl ihre Verletzlichkeit heraus als auch ihre Abhängigkeit voneinander. So stoßen sie permanent und gnadenlos an die Grenzen ihrer individuellen Freiheiten. Mit einer einzigartigen, kraftvollen Sprache an der Schnittstelle von Tanz und Akrobatik, getrieben von einer eigens komponierten Musik, schafft es Tipping Point, das Publikum in Atem zu halten, während die Choreografin Pia Meuthen deutlichvor Augen führt: „Wir leben in instabilen Zeiten, und es wird immer deutlicher, wie sehr wir global voneinander abhängig sind: Jede Entscheidung hat Auswirkungen und manchmal sind die Folgen unseres Handelns (oder Nichthandelns) bis ans andere Ende der Welt zu spüren.
Die Choreografin Pia Meuthen findet ihre Inspiration in Literatur und Philosophie und setzt sie dann in poetische Bilder um. Die Performances entstehen durch Improvisation auf der Grundlage gründlicher Recherche und werden von den charismatischen Darstellern getragen – einem Team aus internationalen Tänzern und Zirkusartisten unterschiedlichen Alters und Hintergrunds. So entsteht ein sinnliches Theater mit einer sehr kraftvollen, manchmal geradezu spektakulären und doch raffinierten Bewegungssprache, die in einen anspruchsvollen Dialog mit architektonischen Kulissen tritt.

[:en]Tipping Point is a breathtaking balancing act in which six performers face a large, hemispherical object. As soon as they climb it, it tips and the performers are forced to react immediately. This instability highlights both their vulnerability and their dependence on each other. They are constantly and mercilessly pushed to the limits of their individual freedom. With a unique, powerful language at the interface of dance and acrobatics, driven by specially composed music, Tipping Point manages to keep the audience on the edge of their seats while choreographer Pia Meuthen clearly demonstrates: „We live in unstable times and it is becoming increasingly clear how globally interdependent we are: Every decision has an impact and sometimes the consequences of our actions (or inactions) can be felt all the way to the other side of the world.“
Choreographer Pia Meuthen finds her inspiration in literature and philosophy and then translates it into poetic images. The performances are created through improvisation based on thorough research and are carried by the charismatic performers – a team of international dancers and circus artists of different ages and backgrounds. The result is a sensory performance with a very powerful, sometimes almost sensational and yet refined language of movement that enters into a sophisticated dialog with architectural backdrops.
