[:de]Umbra, lateinisch für Schatten, untersucht die Quellen für Licht und Dunkelheit. Dafür begibt sich das britische Tanz Trio mit einem hohen körperlichen Einsatz in die Tiefen unserer Ängste und Begierden. Warum ändern wir unsere Kommunikation und unser Benehmen je nachdem, welcher Person wir begegnen? Warum teilen wir mal offen unsere Gefühle und verstecken sie in anderen Situationen wieder? Umbra ist eine Einladung, sich selbst ein bisschen besser zu verstehen.

Die Company Chameleon ist bekannt für ihren einzigartigen und athletischen Tanzstil, geprägt von Anthony Missen und Kevin Edward Turner. Die beiden hatten sich in den 1990er Jahren am Trafford Youth Dance Theatre kennengelernt und ließen sie sich an der Northern School of Contemporary Dance ausbilden. Nach ihrem Abschluss arbeiteten sie mit einigen der innovativsten Tanzkompanien und Choreographen der Welt und gründeten 2007 schließlich ihre eigene Company. Heute ist Company Chameleon international auf Tournee und gibt jedes Jahr über 50 Vorstellungen im Innen- und Außenbereich. Auf diese Weise haben sie Tausenden von jungen Menschen aus aller Welt eine andere Seite des Tanzes und der Bewegung nähergebracht.

For this, the British dance trio goes into the depths of our fears and desires with a high physical commitment. Why do we change our communication and behaviour depending on the person we meet? Why do we sometimes share our feelings openly and hide them again in other situations? Umbra is an invitation to understand yourself a little better.

The company Chameleon is known for its unique and athletic dance style, coined by Anthony Missen and Kevin Edward Turner. The two had met at Trafford Youth Dance Theatre in the 1990s and went on to train at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance. After graduating, they worked with some of the most innovative dance companies and choreographers in the world, eventually forming their own company in 2007. Today, Company Chameleon tours internationally, giving over 50 performances each year, both indoors and out. In this way, they have introduced a different side of dance and movement to thousands of young people from all over the world.
