Presentation of the Choreographic Centre

With the DANCE | CONTEMPORARY | DANCE – Choreographic Centre a new venue for contemporary and urban dance is being created in Chemnitz – a home for movement, encounter, and artistic exchange.

I Friday, August 28, 2026 At 5:00 PM, the project will be presented to the public for the first time in the former Aktien-Spinnerei II at EUROPARK, Schulstraße 42A in Altchemnitz.

Together with numerous partners from civil society, business, and the public sector, TANZ | MODERNE | TANZ e.V. is developing a place here with supra-regional and national appeal. The Choreographic Center is intended to professional dance artists as well as female amateurs in the future be open and bring together people of different generations.

State Parliament President Alexander Dierks and the Saxon State Minister for Culture and Tourism Barbara Klepsch, among others, are expected to attend the presentation.

The new center is being realized with the support of the TANZPAKT Stadt-Land-Bund funding program and is co-funded by the Free State of Saxony, the City of Chemnitz, the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, Sparkasse Chemnitz, and the Stiftung TANZ – Transition Zentrum Deutschland.
