[:de]Zucker – was fällt einem dazu ein? Ungesund? Lecker? Weniger davon, sagt das Hirn. Mehr davon, der Bauch. Genau diesen widersprüchlichen Assoziationen geht die Tanztheaterproduktion nach und erschafft aus einem einzigen Wort einen kreativen Wirbel. Erzählt wird keine Geschichte, vielmehr kreisen alle körpersprachlichen Ausdrücke um den vielschichten Begriff – in einem ständigen Hin und Her, in Körperrefrains, in Ritualen lässt Abdoulaye Trésor Konaté verschiedenen Empfindungen zum Wort „Zucker“ entstehen, das schließlich die Natur der Menschheit zusammenfasst, die zum Schlimmsten wie zum Besten fähig ist.

Im Jahr 2015 änderte Abdoulaye Trésor Konaté den Namen seiner Compagnie in „ATeKa“ und folgt damit den Initialen seines Vor- und Nachnamens. Schließlich spielen die biografischen Ursprünge eine große Rolle in seiner Arbeit, die an der Schnittstelle zwischen der afrikanischen Kultur und dem zeitgenössischen Tanz in Europa entstehen.

More of it, the stomach. The dance theater production explores precisely these contradictory associations and creates a creative vortex out of a single word. No story is told, rather all body-language expressions revolve around the multi-layered term – in a constant back and forth, in body refrains, in rituals, Abdoulaye Trésor Konaté allows various sensations to arise around the word „sugar,“ which ultimately sums up the nature of humanity, capable of the worst as well as the best.

In 2015, Abdoulaye Trésor Konaté changed the name of his company to „ATeKa“, following the initials of his first and last name. Finally, biographical origins play a major role in his work, which is created at the intersection of African culture and contemporary dance in Europe.
