UNTIL THE BEGINNINGS
MOUVOIR (D) & ÉCOLE DES SABLES (SEN)
22. June 2024 | 20:00 Uhr - 21:00 Uhr
20€In the context of global rhythms, “Until the Beginnings” stages an energetic dance poem that brings together an international team of eight dancers from Senegal, Germany and France with musicians from the fields of percussion and rap. Directors Alesandra Seutin and Stephanie Thiersch weave a choreographic tapestry from their different worlds that questions the nature of hospitality. Their search for ways of living together across borders becomes a performance of sharing stories and choreographic movement material.
Stephanie Thiersch is the founder and artistic director of MOUVOIR. She understands her choreographic work in interdisciplinary movement research and works closely with her ensemble, which covers a broad spectrum in terms of origin and dance style. Alesandra Seutin, an award-winning international performer, choreographer and teacher, is the new artistic director of the École des Sables.
MOUVOIR was founded in 2011 and tours worldwide. The École des Sables in Toubab Dialaw, Senegal, is a renowned dance school of the Jant-Bi Association.
