The countdown is on! The 11th TANZ | MODERNE | TANZ Festival will once again transform Chemnitz into a stage for the international world of contemporary dance from June 18 to 29, 2025. You can look forward to twelve days full of moving productions, innovative choreographies and surprising encounters at extraordinary venues throughout the city.

We cordially invite you to the Opera House for the opening of the 11th International Festival TANZ | MODERNE | TANZ! The renowned Vertigo Dance Company will kick things off with Mana – a profound piece about light, movement and transformation.
SALTARINES – CIE SAMUEL MATHIEU (FR)

As a highlight of the 11th International Festival TANZ | MODERNE | TANZ, we present CIE Samuel Mathieu with Saltarines – a breathtaking fusion of dance and acrobatics. This energetic piece defies gravity and convention by combining rhythm, movement and raw physicality into a powerful, unbridled spectacle.
DAAANCE JAMAICAN DAAANCE – L’ACADCO (JAM)
22. June 2024 | 8pm – 9pm | St. Markuskirche
L’ACADCO brings the pulsating energy of Jamaican dance to the stage with DAAANCE JAMAICAN DAAANCE. Traditional and contemporary movements merge into a rousing expression of culture, rhythm and powerful storytelling.
OVERHEATED – NUEPIKO DANCE COMPANY (LT)

With Overheated, Nuepiko Dance Company brings a haunting dance piece to the stage that deals with personal and global burnout. The choreography reflects exhaustion, pressure and resilience in a restless world.
REFLECTIONS – ADI BOUTROUS (IL)

Adi Boutrous presents Reflections – a fascinating dance piece inspired by Renaissance and Baroque art. Five dancers bring ancient myths and ethical dilemmas to life and reflect on the connection between aesthetics, morality and culture.

Journey of dance discovery through Chemnitz
As part of the European Capital of Culture year Chemnitz 2025, Ballett Chemnitz presents the world premiere of Odyssey in C. Inspired by James Joyce’s Ulysses, this unique dance spectacle invites the audience to experience new choreographies from breakfast to supper at 18 different locations in Chemnitz.
Renowned international companies such as the Company Chameleon (GB), Panama Pictures (NL), L’Acadco – United Caribbean Dance Force (JM), Nuepiko Dance Company (LT), Vertigo Dance Company (IL) and French ensembles such as Act2 – Catherine Dreyfus, CIE Retouramont, CIE Samuel Mathieu and Ex Nihilo are taking part.
