Showcase VIII – ZWISCHEN ATHENA, APOLLON UND DIR – BALLETT CHEMNITZ

[:de]Der in Linz lebende Daniel Morales Pérez ließ sich von der Kulturhauptstadt Europas inspirieren und untersucht in Chemnitz, wie unterschiedlich die Kunstformen und künstlerischen Ansätze auf jeden einzelnen von uns wirken können. Will man die Bezüge zur griechischen Mythologie wörtlich nehmen, so spannt sich der Bogen vom eher strukturierten, handwerk-
lichen Kunstschaffen bis hin zur poetischen, freigeistigen Kreation. Und in diesem weiten Feld hat Jeder seine eigenen Erfahrungen, Leidenschaften, Emotionen – so auch die Tänzerinnen und Tänzer, wenn sie sich der Essenz verschiedener bekannter Kunstwerke nähern.

[:en]Daniel Morales Pérez, who lives in Linz, was inspired by the European Capital of Culture and explores in Chemnitz how different art forms and artistic approaches can affect each and every one of us. If we take the references to Greek mythology literally, the spectrum spans from more structured, handcrafted art to poetic, free-spirited creations. And in this broad field, everyone has their own experiences, passions and emotions – as do the dancers when they approach the essence of various well-known works of art.
