The TANZ | MODERNE | TANZ Büro coordinates education, participation, and health-oriented dance programmes. Its primary goal is to enable access to contemporary dance and firmly anchor dance within the city’s cultural life.
The Büro develops low-threshold programmes for diverse social groups and supports audience development, integration, prevention, and inclusion.

SilberTANZClub- Dance, Movement & Community for Older Adults
The SilberTANZClub is an inviting dance and movement program that supports older people in staying active, socially connected and creative. The program is created in the context of the diverse dance initiatives developed as part of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 and contributes to strengthening sustainable exercise opportunities for older people in Chemnitz.
What is the SilberTANZClub about?
The SilberTANZClub offers weekly dance classes where participants of all backgrounds and physical abilities can discover movement in a safe and encouraging environment. The focus is on physical presence, flexibility, posture, breathing and social interaction. The aim is to promote well-being, strengthen body awareness and facilitate encounters through movement.
Experienced dance teachers lead the courses with a focus on mindful movement and communal experience. The program is designed so that participation is possible regardless of dance experience or physical ability.
The SilberTANZClub sees itself as a regular, continuous offer that supports access to dance and movement in old age in the long term and complements existing participatory dance initiatives in the city.

Older adults looking to stay active, people who enjoy creative movement and social interaction, anyone interested in dance regardless of experience or physical ability, participants seeking a supportive and inclusive community

SchulTANZprojekt – Creativity, Movement & Expression
The SchulTANZprojekt brings contemporary and urban dance directly into schools in Chemnitz and the surrounding area. The program introduces children and young people to dance as an artistic, physical and social practice, embedded in their everyday learning environment.
Through creative movement workshops, improvisation tasks and simple choreographic exercises, students explore rhythm, space, coordination and collaboration. Dance becomes a means of self-expression, strengthening self-confidence and group interaction, regardless of previous knowledge or physical ability.
The SchulTANZ project is developed in close cooperation with schools and teachers and is aimed at different age groups and learning contexts. It strengthens physical competence, creativity and social skills and at the same time offers low-threshold access to contemporary dance.

Pupils of different age groups, teachers and educational institutions.

Salsa
Our salsa evenings invite participants to immerse themselves in the joyful rhythms and dynamic partner work of salsa. The sessions are rooted in Afro-Latin American dance traditions and combine technique, musicality and social interaction.
Whether beginner or advanced - Salsa with TANZ | MODERNE | TANZ is a lively, integrative place where self-confidence, coordination and rhythmic flexibility can be built up. Suitable for people of all ages who enjoy moving to rousing music.

Mini Movers
Creative dance fun for little explorers (3-8years)
Mini Movers is a playful dance program for children that encourages imagination, curiosity and the joy of movement. With music, stories, rhythm and creative tasks, children explore their bodies and develop basic motor skills.
The courses promote coordination, balance, spatial awareness and social interaction. There is no pressure to perform - the focus is on discovery, enjoyment and creativity.
Who is it for?
Children ages 3-8, no previous experience required.

Gyrotonic®
Whole-Body Movement for Strength & Freedom
Gyrotonic® is a holistic movement method that uses flowing, circular movements to promote strength, flexibility, coordination and body awareness.
As part of the health-oriented programs of TANZ | MODERNE | TANZ, Gyrotonic® supports both rehabilitation and preventive movement practice. The method is suitable for people with different physical needs and is often used by dancers, athletes and people with chronic complaints.
Who is it for?
Dancers, movement enthusiasts and anyone interested in health-oriented, functional movement.

Yoga
Mindful movement for body, breath and balance
The yoga program offers a calm, balancing counterbalance to dynamic dance styles. The sessions combine postures, breathing techniques and relaxation to promote flexibility, strength and mental clarity.
The courses are adaptable to different levels of experience and physical abilities and support regeneration and mindfulness.
Who is it suitable for?
Adults who are looking for conscious movement, relaxation and physical balance.

DANCECamp
Youth dance exchange & creative collaboration
TANZCamp is an intensive dance project for young people that combines contemporary and urban dance practices with intercultural exchange.
In intensive workshops and rehearsals, participants explore different movement styles and develop creative ideas together. Often in collaboration with international partner cities, TANZCamp promotes artistic growth, cultural dialog and a sense of community.
Who is it suitable for?
Young people and teenagers with an interest in dance and creative movement.

Capoeira for kids
Brazilian movement art & play for children
Capoeira for Kids introduces children to a Brazilian art form that combines dance, martial arts, music and play. Through rhythmic movement, games and group interaction, children develop strength, coordination, musicality and self-confidence.
Capoeira promotes respect, teamwork and cultural curiosity and offers a dynamic, inclusive space for physical expression.
Who can join?
Kids and young people; no previous experience required.
