DAAANCE JAMAICAN DAAANCE – L’ACADCO (JM)

With a compilation of diverse dance pieces, Jamaica’s leading contemporary dance company presents a broad spectrum of Caribbean culture. While ‘Cho Rockstone’ tells of the efforts to fight prejudice, “Satta” is a sensual homage to the ancient women who draw their strength from the Orisha gods of the Egyptian Yoruba, and the abstract ‘B.P.M.’ plays with the dynamics of movement. The ensemble, led by founder Dr. L’Antoinette Stines, has been a driving force in the development of dance in the Caribbean for over 40 years, presenting a multifaceted, temperamental program.
