Dancing neighbors public dance performance

The participants of the Chemnitz 2025 project “Dancing Neighbors” will present their dance performance for the first time on Tuesday, October 8 at the Day of Older People.

In the Chemnitz 2025 project “Dancing Neighbors”, older people have been rehearsing contemporary dance and movement for several months, led by dancer Terrry Pedersen Pfeiffer. The aim is to give older people the opportunity to work together with professional artists, try out something new, stay active and become visible in the Capital of Culture program with small performances.
The Dancing Neighbors will present their dance performance to the public for the first time on the Day of the Elderly in the DAStietz cultural department store. Further performances are planned, including at the opening of the Capital of Culture year on 18.1.2025 and over the course of the year.

There will also be an information stand run by the Generations team, where interested parties can find out more about the program for older people.
