WARÉ MONO - KAORI ITO (JP)

[:en]Somewhere between gestural theater, breakdance and contemporary dance, the duo fights a battle, sometimes wild, sometimes tender. As animals, monsters or twins, they gradually invent a ritual that unites them. To this end, they repair a broken puppet, a remnant of a wounded childhood - and are inspired by the Japanese art of Kintsugi, in which broken objects are reassembled with gold, leaving the cracks visible, almost magnifying them. Is this also possible with the wounds of childhood? Can they be valuable if they are refined? Kaori Ito, artistic director of the Théâtre Jeune Public (TJP) at the Centre Dramatique National Strasbourg, has created this fascinating choreography for children aged 6 and over.

They repair a broken marionette, a remnant of a wounded childhood, and draw inspiration from the Japanese art of Kintsugi, in which broken objects are reassembled with gold-leaving the cracks visible, even magnified.
