The TANZ | MODERNE | TANZ Festival is an international festival that celebrates contemporary dance in its entirety. It brings together artists from different countries to present their latest works. The festival includes performances, dance competitions, workshops and public dance events that aim to explore and expand the boundaries of modern dance.

Contribution to cultural development

The festival makes a significant contribution to the cultural development of Chemnitz by promoting various cultural and artistic forms of expression and establishing the city as a center for contemporary dance. It provides a platform for intercultural exchange and collaboration, strengthening cultural diversity and social cohesion. Through workshops and community projects, the active participation of the local population is encouraged and the understanding and appreciation of contemporary dance is increased. The festival is also an important part of the European Capital of Culture 2025, as it shows how a community can constantly reinvent and develop itself through artistic projects.

A project within the framework of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025. This measure was co-financed by tax funds on the basis of the budget approved by the Saxon state parliament and by federal funds from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media.
