Adi Boutrous – Nature of a Fall

Opening performance
A play with the existential contradiction between the instinct for destruction and the yearning for mutual harmony: humans, trapped in an endless cycle of rise and collapse. They climb upon one another like fragile structures, only to fall again—bodies that are catapulted, carried, and resistant. Renewal seems possible only through destruction, by abandoning old perceptions in favor of new ones. Driven by relentless physical intensity, the work unfolds like an endless return to the starting point while sharpening our capacity to listen and to hope.
Adi Boutrous, born in 1989 in the south of Israel, Arab, Israeli and Christian, studied dance and performing arts in Kibbutz Gaaton and Tel Aviv. In 2012 he choreographed his first duet and received the first prize for his debut at the Shades of Dance Festival 2013. Works like One More Thing (in Chemnitz 2023), commissioned by the Théâtre de la Ville, or Reflections, premiered at the renowned Suzanne Dellal Centre and at the Biennale de la Danse in Lyon, made him known throughout Europe. Inspired by literature, painting, and film, he combines humanistic perspectives with a strong musical dramaturgy that structurally shapes his pieces.
