Wir bedauern sehr, dass die angekündigte Auftaktvorstellung der Vertigo Dance Company aus Israel mit dem Stück „MANA“ aufgrund der aktuellen politischen Lage und der damit verbundenen Reisebeschränkungen leider nicht stattfinden kann.
Stattdessen präsentieren wir zur Eröffnung des Festivals einen dreiteiligen Ballettabend mit eindrucksvollen choreografischen Handschriften. Zu Gast sind das Bayerische Junior Ballett München mit „Nacht auf dem kahlen Berge“ von Eric Gauthier und „Devil’s Kitchen“ von Marco Goecke sowie die Cie Samuel Mathieu mit „Le Déclin“ von Samuel Mathieu.
Den Auftakt macht das Bayerische Junior Ballett München mit „Nacht auf dem kahlen Berge“, einer Choreografie von Eric Gauthier zur Musik von Modest Mussorgski, die in einem Wechselspiel aus intensiven Pas de deux und kontrastierenden Ensemblepassagen Leidenschaft, Macht und das fragile Gleichgewicht zwischen Mensch und Natur thematisiert.
Darauf folgt „Le Déclin“ von der Cie Samuel Mathieu, das von Beziehungen im Wandel, von Nähe, Spannung und Zerbrechlichkeit handelt.
Zum Abschluss des Abends zeigt das Bayerische Junior Ballett „Devil’s Kitchen“ von Marco Goecke – ein Werk von großer Intensität und emotionaler Tiefe, inspiriert von der Musik der britischen Band Pink Floyd („Wish You Were Here“, „Dogs“) und geprägt von einer düsteren, flirrenden Bewegungssprache.

We deeply regret that the announced opening performance by the Vertigo Dance Company from Israel with the piece MANA cannot take place due to the current political situation and the resulting travel restrictions.
Instead, we are presenting a three-part ballet evening to open the festival, featuring impressive choreographic signatures. Performing are the Bavarian Junior Ballet Munich with Night on Bald Mountain by Eric Gauthier and Devil's Kitchen by Marco Goecke, as well as Cie Samuel Mathieu with Le Déclin by Samuel Mathieu.
The evening begins with Night on Bald Mountain by the Bavarian Junior Ballet Munich, a choreography by Eric Gauthier set to music by Modest Mussorgsky. Through a dynamic interplay of intense pas de deux and contrasting ensemble scenes, the piece explores themes of passion, power, and the fragile balance between humanity and nature.
Next is Le Déclin by Cie Samuel Mathieu, which delves into the shifting nature of relationships — closeness, tension, and fragility.
The evening concludes with Devil's Kitchen by Marco Goecke, performed by the Bavarian Junior Ballet. Inspired by the music of the British band Pink Floyd (Wish You Were Here, Dogs), Goecke has created a work of great intensity and emotional depth, characterized by a dark, flickering movement language.
