Discover Chemnitz! Inspired by James Joyce’s novel of the century, “Ulysses”, the audience will experience dance creations by international dance makers and dance ensembles throughout the day at 18 stations across Chemnitz. In the run-up to the festival, all invited guest companies within the TANZ | MODERNE | TANZ 2024 festival were invited to develop a piece for the respective specific locations during a residency, which will now be premiered in the European Capital of Culture.

The “Odysee in C” takes the audience on a journey of discovery through Chemnitz in two ways: firstly, places in the city that are often overlooked suddenly come into focus, and secondly, the tour also takes you into the world of contemporary dance in Europe. So take your time and follow the action either in one day or in stages over several days – and don’t forget to collect a small stamp at each stop, which will earn you a ticket discount for a ballet production in the next season.
