Ballett Chemnitz & Plesni Teater Ljubljana

One evening – three choreographers.

It starts with a work by Giovanni Visone from Italy. The dancer from Gauthier Dance, the dance company of Theaterhaus Stuttgart, completed his training in Florence, danced with the Delattre Dance Company in Mainz and the Staatsballett Hannover, where he performed in pieces by Jiří Kylián, Andonis Foniadakis, Medhi Walerski, Nadav Zelner and Hans van Manen. As a choreographer, he received prizes at the SOLOCOREOGRAFICO Festival Frankfurt and the International Competition for
Choreography Competition Hanover 2022.

Emilijus Miliauskas, who has been a soloist with Ballett Chemnitz since the 2011/2012 season, will take on part two. Born in Lithuania, he has danced in ballets at the Munich State Opera and performed as a soloist at the Leipzig Opera and with the Ballet Ensemble Linz. Now he shows his choreographic handwriting: in “All the Animals”, an examination of the human psyche. For this invitation to the audience to reflect on their own inner conflicts and to draw hope from the possibility of renewal, he uses the metaphor of animals to address universal themes such as fear, temptation, anger, doubt and deception.

For the third part, the Plesni Theater Ljubljana is a guest with the production “Orbit_a (level up)”. The work by Kaja Lin Jagodič Avguštin with the support of Mickael Marso Riviére explores the process of modern migrations, various spectrums of inner impulses of displacement and the effects the process has on personal growth, relationships and identity. The orbit is an orbit of repeatable motion, but how does it change when a body in this orbit has to carry its backpack, perhaps also the burden of another shattered life? How much can a person carry? And is there an orbit without old traces? After graduating from the Conservatory of Music and Ballet in Ljubljana, choreographer and dancer Kaja Lin went abroad for seven years, mainly to Israel, and presented her choreographies at many international festivals.
