Adi Boutrous (Israel)

18. June 2023 | 20:00 Uhr - 21:00 Uhr

In his piece for four dancers, Adi Boutrous postulates that no one should fall without being caught. Dancing together, paying attention to each other and observing each other, they repeatedly question their positions on masculinity, power and cohesion. To this end, they repeatedly find the balance between expectations and inner views in powerful, dynamic and sometimes acrobatic images, which are combined in cautious duets and deliberate silences. The movement language of Adi Boutrous is softly flowing and at the same time raw and unpolished. The piece creates a space for mutual support, in which the individual can show himself and let fall, caught and supported by the group, with which he merges again – synchronously, individually and gently.

Adi Boutrous, born in 1989 in the south of Israel, studied dance and performing arts in Kibbutz Gaaton and Tel Aviv. In 2012 he choreographed his first duet and received the first prize at the “Shades of Dance Festival 2013” for his debut. Meanwhile, his work can be seen at numerous festivals in Europe.
